Cisco Innovation Center
In the spirit of driving workplace innovation, please join the Workplace Evolutionaries (WE) on Tuesday, May 16th from 1:00 – 6:00 as WE tours the Cisco’s new Innovation Center. This is the first of its kind in North America and one of nine Innovation Centers worldwide. The Cisco Toronto Innovation Centre is the culmination of Cisco Canada’s commitments to drive innovation, productivity, and digital transformation for industry, government, and the country. The Cisco Toronto Innovation Centre is a catalyst for industry, partners, startups, accelerators, governments, universities, researchers, venture capital (VC) firms, and for individuals and organizations that embrace open source and open innovation. WE will hear first-hand from Bill MacGowan, Director Smart Building Digitization as he shares the details of this important project.
And speaking of innovation….
WE have also asked Scott Varga, Supervisor of Civic Accommodation Planning at the City of Edmonton to share the case study of the highly transformative, Edmonton Tower project. This is a brand new LEED Gold building located in downtown Edmonton located in the heart of Ice District, Canada’s largest sports mixed-use development. Edmonton Tower is the new home for 2,300 City of Edmonton employees comprising 66% of the total building. The City of Edmonton undertook this major city building project to improve service to citizens and build on our organization’s culture by bringing more staff together in an integrated way while changing the fabric of downtown Edmonton. This case study was also featured in the newly released, Work on the Move 2.
Following these two amazing case studies, WE will host a kick-off to launch the WE Toronto/Ottawa HUB. Come join us as we co-create this local community of Workplace Evolutionaries.
We will be meeting at 1:00 at the Cisco Toronto Innovation Centre, located at:
88 Queens Quay West
Toronto, ON, Canada
